I know the title contains the name of our dear ol' Saint Nick, but rest assured, this is not a blog of the past. It was simply a small tribute to one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite movies. And no, I am not like many of the others who love "Nightmare" because it's dark and depressing and the color theme is black. I'm not into all that jazz. I love it because it's a story of a man who wants to branch out from his normal routine and experience something new. And the music is amazing.
In fact, I believe I was just inspired to do every one of my blog titles lyrics from songs...Hmmm. I'll try it for a while, I suppose.
Anyways
This is my first blog and I'm not exactly sure what I should talk about. I am currently at my grandmother's house. I've been here all week taking care of my great grandma while my grandma is on vacation. I did pretty much the exact same thing last month, however I've had to make sure she takes a few more pills before bed this time. My great grandma puts it best when she says, "It's sucks getting old." She's hitting 87 soon, and she's not doing too bad. She's still walking around and getting her excersize. I can only hope I'm like that at her age...I hope I reach her age. Alright, crawling out of that depressing remark and moving on to happier things.
This upcoming Wednesday, my one acts class is putting on a performance again. However, we've made quite a dramatic change. Last time we put on 7 Monty Python's Flying Circus sketches. My favorite one being the Self Defense Class. Actually, speaking of which the "Best of the Best" Gala was last weekend. It consists of the best performaces in dance, jazz choir, and musical scenes throughout the semester. The Self Defense sketch was chosen, and to this day it has been the only one act ever chosen for this event. We had a great cast and our director is amazing. It was quite an experience.
Anyways, back to this Wednesday...
Our new one act is called Seven Menus by David Ives. It's not as openly ridiculous as Monty Python. The humor is more subtle and it concentrates more on the lives of 7 people. However, there is an 8th person but he's only there to kind of piece everything together. If you haven't read it before, I highly suggest you do so now. It's great.
And my friend Shirly and I are puting on a scene from a British sketch comedy show called Big Train. The sketch is called Small Train. It's hilarious and clever and refreshing. If you ever feel the urge to watch it, here's the link:
Anyways, I've got a nice tall glass of Pinneapple/Orange juice to drink and more casting calls to sift through...
Until Next Time...
